Valpak staff are encouraged to support local communities through fundraising activities and donations to local charities
Every year, Valpak supports local charities through staff fundraising initiatives. It is part of our culture to want to give back to society.
Staff have had lots of fun raising money for various charities, with activities including: Gunge Days, summer BBQs, Quiz Nights, Wine Tasting Evenings, Games Nights, Bake Sales and much more…
2021
Acorns Children’s Hospice
Having heard about the impact fundraising such as ours has on the children and families receiving care and support at Acorns Children’s Hospice, the Charity Committee will be continuing to support this fantastic charity through 2022.
We raised £8060 for charities in 2021.
2020
Acorns Children’s Hospice
We supported several charities in 2020, including Acorns Children’s Hospice, which provides specialist care for children, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
2019
Stratford-upon-Avon Food Bank
In 2019, we raised money for Stratford-upon-Avon Food Bank, a local charity which is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. The money we raise will help towards securing roomier premises, which are urgently required. Valpak staff are also donating groceries to help those in crisis within the town.
2018
Mind and Guide Dogs for the Blind
In 2018, we raised money for Mind, a charity which supports people experiencing mental health problems, and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
2017
Shakespeare Hospice and Parkinson's UK
In 2017, we raised £2000 to share between the Shakespeare Hospice, a local charity caring for local residents and Parkinson’s UK who staff voted for owing to the great work it undertakes across the UK.
2016
Ettington Community First Responder Team
In 2016, we raised £800 for The Ettington Community First Responder Team to provide voluntary first-response medical care within this area in partnership with West Midlands Ambulance Service. We also raised £800 for the Stratford Cancer and Eye Hospital Team.
2015
Coventry Haven
In 2015, we raised £1,577.78 for Coventry Haven helping them to offer support to women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence to free themselves from the situation they are in. We also raised £2,680 for Stratford Cancer and Eye Hospital helping them to provide enhanced facilities for the cancer and eye wards situated in the new Stratford Hospital development.
2014
Birmingham Children's Hospital
In 2014, we raised £2,680 for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, helping them to treat children with some of the most complex heart conditions, chronic liver and kidney disease, cancer, serious burns, epilepsy, neurology and cystic fibrosis.
2013
Safeline
In 2013, we raised £3,000 for Safeline to create a ‘young people resource room’, in new premises. Safeline provides support and relief to anyone affected by sexual abuse.
2012
Myton Hospice
In 2012, we raised nearly £4,000 for Myton Hospice’s ‘Rainbow Ripples’ initiative, a specialist child and teenage bereavement counselling service helping children affected by serious illness or death of a close family member.
2011
Elisabeth Svendsen Trust & Warwickshire Wildlife Trust
In 2011, we raised £3,000 for The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys which provides donkey-assisted therapy for children with additional needs.
We also spent a number of days at the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust helping them to clear part of their grounds for a new Sensory Garden.
2010
Kamla Foundation & Action 21
In 2010, we raised £2,500 to support a sustainable water management project in Tamil Nadu, India, which was run by the Kamla Foundation. In the summer, we spent a number of days helping to clear the land and develop a Sustainability Garden at Action 21’s Sustainability Centre in Leamington Spa.
2009
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust
In 2009, we helped with the development of a Roman British Campsite. This hands-on project was designed to show young people how our Roman ancestors were dependant on the land and its wildlife for survival.
Charities Supported
Young people are super-proud to be recognised by Valpak. They are excited for the support they will receive for their education, employment and training prospects through Valpak.
