Read MoreValpak and circular design specialists, Circular&Co. have announced a partnership agreement which will see them work together to develop sustainable products from hard to recycle materials.
Using Circular&Co.’s groundbreaking Circular Cup* as a template the shared aim will be to create recycled and recyclable products for which there is sustainable demand.
Commenting on the partnership Valpak’s Procurement Director, Ben Richardson, said:
“This is an exciting opportunity for Valpak and the major brands we represent. Our natural resources cannot continue to support society’s current levels of consumption and by developing markets for recycled materials we are ensuring that their commercial and environmental value isn’t lost for ever in a landfill or incinerator.”
“Working together will enable both companies to provide their customers with more opportunities for fully circular solutions” commented Circular&Co.’s, CEO & Founder, Dan Dicker. “Legislative and social pressures mean that sustainable business models make more sense than ever, and big businesses are wanting to get ahead of the curve. This partnership will give us valuable insight into their environmental ambitions and the waste streams they are producing.”
Under the terms of the agreement Valpak will become Circular&Co.’s exclusive compliance scheme partner. Initial areas of focus will be the significant untapped potential of single use cups while also exploring opportunities around recycled food grade packaging.
* The multi award winning Circular Cup is made from recycled coffee cups and is recyclable itself after 10 years of use.
